Papua New Guinea is located in the north of Australia and in the east of Indonesia. It consists of a variety of cultures and ethnic groups; the number of indigenous languages is more than 800. Sideia Island being a part of Milne Bay Province can be found in the east of the country, surrounded by many more small islands. Most of the people there live on these islands far away from the mainland, making a living from gardening and fishing. The Education system is developed poorly, especially regarding the difficult location. Only a few students are given the opportunity of a good education.
The Sideia Mission Center consists of a church, an Elementary School, a Primary School, a Health Center as well as more commonly used institutions and a vocational training school.
